So, we, as women, must simultaneously be a chaste mother and a sexually deviant nymphomaniac. It's a lot to live up to. But, also, this defines us by our relationships to others.
Women are the mother of boys, and the lovers of men.
But, what are we for ourselves - as ourselves? When is that narrative going to be told?
I repeat: This is why we still need feminism.
I couldn't agree more. We do need feminism. As to why, I think we can brainstorm together and we can come up with tens of reasons. I will contribute mine.
ReplyDeleteWe need feminism so women understand that it is OK to be ourselves. We don't have to be like anyone or fit anyone's pattern. We can just be. And those who disagree with who we are, can go F themselves.
